After the long first day at the 5 pillers we decided to have a short day.Friday morning was very cold with a strong East wind blowing in the first snowflakes of the day. Shortly after setting off Bob had his second puncture since leaving home, and had to borrow a spare wheel from Sarah. As Garry also needed a new tyre, we decided that after lunch we would head for the tyre garage in Cambrai, and then continue with a few lanes after this.As we started the picnic the snow started to fall quite heavily with the wind drifting it across the lanes. After the picnic we headed towards Cambrai and the Tyre Garage. While Bob had a new tube fitted and Garry a new tyre, the others sheltered in a cafe from the driving snow which was changing to freezing rain.We joined them in the cafe and decided that as the weather was so unpleasant, the Land Rovers by now being covered in ice, to call it a day and head back to the Hotel before meeting that evening for dinner.
