What does a tour consist of?
The Massif Central week tour

The 4X4 Adventure tours in the Valley of the Allier are week long, which gives you enough time to explore many of the lanes and tracks of the area, and relax.

The lanes are challenging, and there is a small risk of body damage, and bramble scratches are inevitable as many of the tracks run through the woods, and are not driven very often. Sump and steering/axles protection are strongly recommended as many of the tracks are rocky.
A winch, whilst not essential could be useful during spring and autumn when the lanes can be wet and slippery.
We would advise that you brought all your off road gear with you. Ropes, strops etc, and especially in spring, a chain saw if you have one, or a hand saw, as we often find fallen trees and branches blocking the tracks.

The week tour starts on Sunday, and consists of six night's accommodation with breakfast in the Hostellerie Saint-Vernay, 6 evening meals,(drinks not included) and 4 days escorted Greenlaning, with lunches. Depending on which lanes we take, we will either take a picnic lunch with us, or have lunch at the hotel.

Please note that there is no camping option or other variation on this tour.

You would travel to France at your leisure, and check into the Hostellerie on the Sunday late afternoon, and then in the evening, meet for Dinner ( a 4 course meal with local specialty dishes) where we would get to know each other and discuss the week's laning.

On the Monday morning we would meet for breakfast, and, escorted by one or more of the Land Rovers, we would set off for a day's Greenlaning. Normally the route would be up to 100 kilometres, and take about 6 to 8 hours, depending on the degree of difficulty of the route and the weather, and with plenty of stops for photos and looking at points of interest.

On Monday evening, time to relax over dinner.

Tuesday, we would set off again on a different set of lanes, returning for Dinner in the evening.

Normally on Wednesday you have the day free to relax, or to look round the beautiful area, but sometimes if there are local events which people wish to see, the day off can be changed.

Thursday and Friday will be spent exploring more of the many lanes in this beautiful area of France.

On Saturday morning you return home.
