Massif Central

We have a range of dates for 2009, so you can chose from late spring, with possibly some snow left on the higher tracks, and with the melting snow, some interesting and challenging lanes, Summer, with the sunshine and normally drier tracks, and Autumn, with the beautiful colours of the falling leaves, normally still warm, but with the chance of rain and slippery tracks. 5 Pillars Site

After a brief period of opening early last year, the site is now closed until further notice.
This unfortunately means that we are unable to take any bookings for the site or include it in our weekends.
However we have a very good trials section in the Massif Central, with some very steep climbs through the trees up the valley side. This would be ideal for a club who would like a week of mixed greenlaning and trials.

LRW Show at Eastnor Castle 2008

In June 2008, we exhibited at the Land Rover World Show at Eastnor Castle. It was a great show, set in the beautiful parklands of the castle.
It was great to meet so many who had been on our tours, as well as many potential new customers.
Our journey there was eventful, as on the M25 just north of the Dartford crossing the alternator bracket broke, and had it not been for the assistance of Lookers of Hadleigh, the nearest Land Rover dealer, who after receiving our distress call after 5.00pm, still managed to obtain a new bracket by 8.30 the following morning by Land Rover's VOR service, and when I limped in fitted it for me at a very reasonable price, so well done Lookers, and Thank You.
Land Rover problems don't normally come individually, and I noticed when we arrived towing our caravan loaded with all our equipment, that the fuel consumption was much higher than normal, so I ran an engine check with the Non-com diagnostic computer which I had recently purchased from Bearmach in Maidstone, and it showed an airflow meter and waste gate fault.
5 Alive, who had a stand near to us confirmed these faults, and fitted a new airflow meter and also an air filter, and with a mole wrench and lots of WD40, we freed off the waste gate, and on the return journey the difference in performance and the much better fuel consumption was immediately apparent.
